Arnold Fun Run
The Arnold Fun Run (formerly our annual Walkathon) is our primary community fundraiser and very exciting all-school event of the year. The money raised from this event funds our entire PTA budget for the school year and excess funds are being used for our capital campaign to build an outdoor learning pavilion for our school. Exciting changes are coming this year including shirts for all participants and fun changes to the race day program. If you want to help our children be world changers and raise money for our school please contact our chair, Brandon Fields (brandonlfields@gmail.com)
Room Parents
Each school year PTA Parent Members are given the opportunity to sign up to be considered to serve as a room parent for their child's homeroom teacher. Each homeroom teacher is assigned 2 room parents. Room parents must be PTA members and have paid their $20.00 annual dues. Room parents must also have completed a commercial background check through AACPS. We have additional room parents to assist the special education and cultural arts teams.
Room parents serve as a liaison and point of contact between the PTA, teacher and the classroom parents. Additionally, room parents organize the class parties at Halloween and Valentines Day, gifts for their assigned teacher at holidays and other special occasions and represent the classroom at PTA events during the school year by volunteering at events such as Fall Festival (each homeroom class is assigned a small job), the Holiday Breakfast, the Sweet Spring Soiree and Teacher Appreciation Week.
You can submit your request to serve as a Room Parent now through our website by visting your families account page and submitting the Room Parent Interest Form located under volunteer opportunties. All interest forms must be completed by September 15, 2024 to be considered.

Annual Fall Festival
The Fall Festival is a cherished Arnold tradition. It is a fun filled day for the whole family that includes crafts, carnival games, live music, face painting, moonbounce, concessions, and a bake sale. This is an exciting day for Arnold Elementary and the community. Many volunteers are needed to help decorate, organize and staff food, bake sale, and game stations, help with ticket sales, and to solicit donations from area business. Volunteers are also needed from each class to help the Room Parents with running game and activity booths.
**Our Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.**
